IVRSTAR has a collaboration agreement with The Winston School, a prominent Del Mar, CA based education institution for children with Learning Differences.
We completed a successful student pilot in early 2025, delivering a spelling comprehension learning game using immersive virtual reality (IVR) technology content as a teaching tool in a classroom setting.
In the Pilot Program, we worked with Subject Matter Experts, PhD in Literacy for Special Education, and Dyslexic Students to help guide us in building IVR applications for their specific needs.
Feedback from the pilot program was overwhelmingly positive. Students expressed that they genuinely enjoyed learning through IVR, finding the experience engaging and beneficial. The Winston School acknowledged the advantages of integrating IVR into their programs, recognizing its value in supporting student learning.
Following the successful pilot, IVRSTAR is embarking on a collaborative research initiative with The Winston School and the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). This partnership is aimed at investigating the role and impact of immersive virtual reality (IVR) in special education, specifically for students diagnosed with dyslexia.
Through this collaborative effort, the study seeks to generate valuable insights into the ways IVR technology can support and enhance learning outcomes for neurodivergent and dyslexic students. The findings are expected to contribute to a deeper understanding of IVR’s potential to transform educational practices and improve academic success for students with learning differences.
